PACE Skill Training Centre
Project Description
:
A skilled workforce is necessary for both economic and social development. India is one of the youngest countries in this world. It is expected that India will have surplus active population by 2020, which means lower dependency ratio. It will also boost the economic development of the country. For this to happen, development of skills in youth is needed. Keeping all this in view, Tata Steel has partnered with various organisations for skill development of youths selected from different areas. One such initiative is PACE Skill Training Centre at Sheragada, Ganjam, which has been established by Tata Stele in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation in FY 2013-14. The state government has provided the building for the centre. The centre offers two-month residential training on "Food Production" and "Food Beverage Services". Till March 2017, a total of 414 youths have been trained at the centre and given placement across the country.
