Literacy Rate: The total percentage of the population of an area at a particular time aged seven years or above who can read and write with understanding. 

Gross Enrolment Ratio Primary Level: The Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) Primary Level is defined as the percentage of enrolment in Primary (Classes I-V) to the estimated child population in the age groups of 6 to less than 11 years

Gross Enrolment Ratio Upper Primary Level: The Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) Upper Primary Level is defined as the percentage of enrolment in Upper Primary (Classes- VI-VIII) to the estimated child population in the age groups of 11 to less than 14 years

Dropout Rate Primary Level: The dropout rate primary level represents the percentage of pupils who dropout from primary level (Classes I-V) of education in a given school year.

Dropout Rate Upper Primary Level: The dropout rate upper primary level represents the percentage of pupils who dropout from upper primary level (Classes- VI-VIII) of education in a given school year.
