:
NALCO had taken up the activity of providing safe drinking water to the devotees and visitors during the cart festival at Puri. Puri is the 4th dham or abode of Lord Vishnu according to the Hindu religion and hence, always witnesses the influx of visitors. The Cart festival which is observed during the month of June-July is a festival that attracts visitors from across the globe. As per the Puri Municipality, more than 1 million people come to the city to observe the festival as informed by the Puri Muncipality. Humidity rate is very high during the period. Hence, resulting in more sweating and the devotees are likely to be dehydrated. In order to supply water to the visitors to prevent any casualty and unhealthy situation NALCO provided 10 lakh drinking water pouches during the festival.
