Nalco ra Aliali Jhia (Nalco ki Ladli)-To provide financial support to girl students under BPL category from periphery villages of S&P Complex Angu
Project Description
:
To encourage poor and meritorious girl students with financial assistant for meeting the expenses on account of uniform and study materials etc. Starting from Class VIII to X. education as a fundamental right, India ensures constitutional provisions for providing free and compulsory education to all the children between 6 to 14 years of age. Even after declaring education as a fundamental right, there are numerous hurdles that prohibit a girl child from actually getting education. To have equal treatment to both Boys and Girls, a girl should be educated in order to ensure a better life for herself. If she is educated and empowered, she would be in a condition to add on the income of the family, and raising the living condition of her family. Keeping the above in view the Govt. Of India has also introduced the scheme- Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao NALCO has taken this initiative under BETI BACHAO - BETI PADHAO programme of Central Government of India. Under the scheme, scholarship of Rs.6000/- per annum is provided to meritorious girls students studying in class 8th to 10th. 125 beneficiaries from Angul have been selected under the programme for FY 2017-18 who are assisted with RS 6000/- per Annum per student.
