UTKAL KALYAN SEVA SANGHA is an NGO which is working since 1998 education and rehabilitation of Divyangs. The institution is registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, Regd. No. 777-15/1999-2000. The institution is recognized by Women and Child Development Deptt. Of Govt. of Odisha and supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of Govt of India, New Delhi. A Special School for Deaf & Mentally Retarded is run by UTKAL KALYAN SEVA SANGHA. The school is completely residential for the children with special needs (CWSNs). The school is providing free education with hostel facility. At present there are 102 students enrolled in the school. The school has measurable success in district, state and national level competition in both curricular and co-curricular activities.The school has requirement of a kitchen, dining, additional class rooms, toilet and development works in ground floor and first floor of existing school building. The management of UTKAL KALYAN SEVA SANGHA approached General Manager, MCL IB Valley area to consider the proposal and takeup the work under its CSR Progaramme for the betterment and welfare of differently abled students.Considering the exigency of the issue, CSR Committee of IB Valley area agreed to take-up the work under CSR of IB Valley Area. After getting competent approval, the IB Valley Area executed the work Construction of Kitchen, dining, additional class rooms, toilet, development works in ground floor and first floor of existing school building of special school for deaf and mentally retarted at Brundamal under CSR head. The total expenditure incurred in this work is Rs. 45.30 lakhs. The work started on Nov 22, 2017 and completed as per the schedule on May 21, 2018. The scope of work included construction of 01 Dinning hall 01 store and 01 Kitchen 06Nos of rooms, 01 no hall, 04 nos of toilets cum bath.
