Increasing income of vulnerable families through second crop
Project Description
:
Farmers ofKalinganagarare mainly involved in Paddy cultivation and very less farmers go for second and third crop production, as most of them are involved as laborers in different industries and mines. Some of the farmers are doing ground nut cultivation but dont go for inter cropping, so we have planed to provide gypsum to 650 farmers doing groundnut cultivation as gypsum will help in kernel and pod development as well as it will increase the oil content. Inter cropping of mustard will give increase of income to these farmers and preserve biodiversity. So we have imparting training on inter cropping of mustard to these farmers which farmers will buy it themselves. To promote this on pilot basis we have planned to work on 1/2 acre with each farmer, so that they can observe the difference and from next season other farmers will also follow this practice. In acre 20 kg of gypsum is required
