: Bus service for college students (Sukingda and Haripur college)

Project Description

: It has been witnessed that the students from sukinda degree college face transportation challenges due to unavailability of local transportation facilities. The bus is run by TSRDS from past two years to provide safe transportation service to college going girls for to and fro movement from Military chaak, Danagadi to Sukinda College, Sukindagarh. The college has about 1500 students, out of which 1100 are Girls. The college management has also approached for providing transportation facilities to the girl students. It was also observed that most of our students here belong to ST/ SC community. Currently about 500 students in this college belong to kalinganagar area. These students have to rely on college bus, public transport (bus and mini vans) bicycle and bikes to travel to school. Though most of the students are from humble background, very few can make their own arrangements. The public transport is not so apt, thus is unable to cater to needs of this large number of students. Hence getting space into a bus or mini van is a luck. Moreover this college route has high traffic, as it is used by lots of heavy vehicles. This makes the travel unsafe for students. This is the only college bus in this route to accommodate all students. Though the problem will not be completely solved but it is likely to ease the situation.
