Project Description
:
Nand Ghar is an initiative to create and operate smart Anganwadis. Nand Ghars are built with state-of-the-art infrastructure, which is fire resistant, damp resistant, earthquake resistant and equipped with solar power systems for electricity. Nand Ghars do not aim to be limited by the traditional functions of an Anganwadi center (AWC) but aims at playing a greater role in development of rural communities. It is designed with a vision to potentially transform women and child development in India by disrupting the status quo.Nand Ghars currently provide the following services in the communities it serves- Early childhood education for children 3-6 years of age, Pre-packed nutrition for children 3-6 years of age, Healthcare services for the Nand Ghar beneficiaries and by extension the local community at Nand Ghar doorstep, Skill and Entrepreneurship training for rural women including soft skills, financial literacy, business development and skill specific training.
