Project Description
:
As a part of its Affirmative Action policy, Tata Steel offers support to the needy and deserving students of SC/ST communities who are pursuing higher education. One of the Fellowship Programmes of Tata Steel Tribal Cultural Society which is being given since mid 1970s was branded as Jyoti Fellowship in 2004-05. Structured to cater to high school, intermediate, under-graduate and post-graduate students from the economically backward SC/ST families, the fund obligated by the company has increased over the years. Under Jyoti Fellowship, financial assistance is offered to meritorious students from economically backwardScheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families to enable them accomplish educational and career aspirations. Tata Steels Tribal Cultural Society identifies deserving candidates from operational areas of the company onthe basis of merit test.
