Project Description
:
Women are the managers of the familys water budget. Because of the fact that women use water for most of the domestic chores in the home, they are considered vitally important in water conservation. When women save water in the home, they also educate theirchildren and family members about the importance of water conservation. Finally, women themselves need to cut down on water usevia substitution of water-saving methods and other personal adjustments. Overall, water conservation via involvement of the publiccan be effective when women are actively involved as they are the key players towards achieving sustainable management of waterresources.Kalinganagar has various natural source of water and specially the springs conribute to the large percentage of drinking water to thevillagers. Community action with women help us to bring awareness among the women and through them to the whole comunityabout conservation of water. The shram daan by women SHGs focused on cleaning the common places of their village accessed by everyone to withdraw water for household as well as farming purposes."
