:
As a part of Vedanta CSR initiative, the team had responded to the COVID- 19 crisis promptly with consistent effort to cater to the increased demand for medical provisions like washable face masks & soaps while creating livelihood opportunity for the community even before the time COVID cases appeared in Odisha. The team had enabled & nurtured 83 women SHG members with requisite skills and establishing an uninterrupted production system of the masks, concurrently promoting self-dependency. Within one month, SHG members have produced more than 1.2 lakhs washable masks, and CSR team directly reaching out to every door step of 76 villages and various group of stakeholders and necessitous. Along with this initiative, team has implemented various ideas such as Mike Announcement in villages, Leaflets distribution, vaccination, Telemedicine facility & Agricultural support to enable farmers to continue with their livelihood etc.
