Career Counselling and Skill Development Program of Youths

Adolescents are faced with important choices as they progress through secondary schooling. After school, they need to move onto a job, or further education. Making that choice can be difficult, particularly if they have no experience with the world beyond school. Younger people may or may not have little work experience. Some may have a certain awareness from their parents, or from part time jobs but many will have at best a vague idea of the possibilities that lie ahead. To empower the local youth from the peripheral villages, GIL had organized the career counselling program at Ganjam during the month of April 2019, where around 60 youths participated. This counselling session was conducted with the support of Aditya Birla Skill Foundation, Bhubnaeswar. Out of 60 participants 29 are selected to join the skill development training. They are pursuing in various trades such as Beautician, Air conditioner repairing, Office assistant and Marketing.
