Operation of Medical Health Unit (MHU) at peripheral villages of M&R complex, Damanjodi & Pottangi
Project Description
:
NALCO runs 4 MHUs in Damanjodi 1 In Pottangi in order make health services available at the door step of the people at 205 periphery villages of Damanjodi, Pottangi for whom the basic health services were not accessible either due to their remoteness, lack of resources and/or awareness. In the absence of proper connectivity, villagers had to walk to the far off PHCs (which again always not properly equipped to provide services) in the periphery villages which are remotely located were struggling to get basic health services which not only cost them money, time, energy but also their lives(at times). Besides, the project also takes care of awareness generation for preventing the occurrence of preventable diseases eradicating superstitions and attitude around diseases and their curing practices. In the year covid related restriction and closure of MoU partner led to lower coverage
