Project Description
:
Communicable Diseases like HIV AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria are some of the major health concerns in the district of Ganjam. Every year, these diseases cause hundreds of deaths in the district of Ganjam. Around 1400 people affected with AIDS lost their lives during 2009 to 2016 in the district of Ganjam. Tuberculosis is found to be the second killer disease after HIV AIDS causing 221 deaths in 2014 in the district. Looking at the current situation, Grasim decided to do a massive campaign cum awareness program in Ganjam. The sensitization campaign was carried out using local folk media and the involvement of Government Doctors through village level awareness generation. The camps were organized at 19 different places like village Mandap, Roadside, Institutions, hamlets etc. Around 5480 beneficiaries benefited from this program.
