Project Description
:
Promotion of Nutrition garden could become one of the approaches and can play an important role in enhancing dietary diversity and helping in combating malnutrition. This approach will help to address the micronutrients deficiency through availability of seasonal vegetables at household level. A crop calendar has been developed keeping in mind the vegetables needed to supplement required need of micronutrients (vitamins and trace minerals). Other approaches could be engaging with the existing government systems such as augmentation of AWCs and NRCs for betterment and improvement of the malnutrition and anemia condition in the operational areas, and behaviour change communication with target beneficiaries on nutrition and management of malnutrition and anemia.
