Project Description
:
Renovation of Kiakata Pond at Sanajorada, Karnapur, to restore its ecological balance and enhance water availability for the local community. The intervention included strengthening of embankments, cleaning of the waterbody, and improving the surrounding area to ensure long-term sustainability.The rejuvenated pond now serves as an important source of water for household use, livestock, and minor irrigation needs, while also contributing to groundwater recharge. The improved ecosystem has enhanced the village environment and supported livelihoods dependent on water resources.Through this initiative, NALCO reinforced its commitment to environmental conservation and community wellbeing by reviving a vital natural asset for the people of Sanajorada.
