Project Description
:
Extended support for plantation activities in and around the Chandaka Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary to enhance green cover and strengthen the ecological health of the region. The initiative focused on planting indigenous species, improving habitat conditions, and contributing to long-term conservation efforts within the sanctuarys buffer zones.The plantation drive has aided in soil conservation, improved biodiversity, and supported the natural regeneration of forest areas that serve as an important habitat for wildlife, including elephants. Community involvement and periodic maintenance ensured better survival of saplings and promoted environmental stewardship among local stakeholders. Through this intervention, NALCO reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation by contributing to the preservation of a vital ecosystem in Odisha.
