:
In a pioneering effort Vedanta group has opened Child care centres in the Peripheral Villages. The centres arerunning in the villages since 2004. The centres cater to the day care need of children as parents go out for work.Tribal populace villages have very low enrolment in schools and very high absenteeism rate as parents take theirchildren along with them to forest (Collection of NTFP or MFP for their livelihood) or for wage labour. The projectwas started by Vedanta Foundation and now running under CSR.The Objectives of the project includes1. To improve the nutritional and health status of Children of age group 3-5 years.2. To lay the foundation for proper Psychological, Physical and Social Development of the Child.3. To reduce the incidence of Mortality, Morbidity and Malnutrition4. To promote pre-school education among children of 3-5 years age group5. To provide quality day care to the children
