:
Vedanta Limited being a socially responsible organization, implements various development activities that helps in improving living standard of rural villagers living around its periphery of Jharsuguda. Rural Health is one of its integral thematic area of its services. Rural Medicare facility around Jharsuguda is in poor state. There are persons who are too vulnerable and old to visit private hospital for treatment and are too poor to afford it. Understanding the criticality of poor rural health care facility, Vedanta, as part of its CSR initiatives, started Mobile Health Unit (MHU) in 2008 to bring medical facilities at the doorsteps of rural poor. In this FY 16, we partnered Wockhardt Foundation as an implementing agency of the project. Currently this programme functioning in 14 peripheral villages and 2 special school.
