Jitendra Bag, a 28 yrs old youth is from the village of Dunguri in Bargarh, Odisha which is identified as one of the most rural populated district in Odisha. Jitendra lost her father when he was twelve. His mother and sister have been engaged as daily wage laborer for their livelihood. Poverty, social insecurity, financial problems of the family has kept him in back foot point. He has many challenges to overcome. For Jitendra, being independent always meant having a job and being able to support his family. He completed his ITI in 2014 with the hope that it will enable him to get placed and be self-sufficient. He attended many interviews, but lack of hands-on training and employability skills came in his way.
Then one day he met Mahashakti professional, Ms. Kalyani Nanda and came to know about “Nayi Disha’’, an initiative by ACC TRUST - Bargarh to imparting skill to the youth through employment assistance. The change began with the participation of Jitendra in the ‘’Nayi Disha’’ program organized at Bargarh ACC Campus for youth employment where he was selected and enrolled himself for three months Skill development training under DDUGKY at Bhubaneswar. As the training continued, Jitendra realized how the formal training resulting efficiency. Post completing his training, Jitendra got placed with HYUNDAI company at Pune as a Welder Executive with a salary of sixteen thousand (16,000/-) per month and able to support his family. His productivity and daily output has been continuously increased.
